Project summary
Chillisauce is a UK events company specialising in group experiences, including stag and hen weekends, corporate events and activity breaks. I was commissioned to develop the front-end component system for a new booking platform designed to support customers throughout the process of researching, building and booking their event.
The challenge
Create a modern, mobile-first experience that made it easier for customers to discover destinations and activities, build their event and progress towards booking.
The platform needed to support a large and varied catalogue of experiences while remaining simple to navigate across mobile and desktop.
The approach
Working from supplied designs, I developed a modular library of reusable HTML, CSS and JavaScript components that could be assembled into different pages and customer journeys across the platform.
I also created a standalone pattern library using Pattern Lab, giving the wider development team a central reference for the component system and allowing progress to be reviewed as the platform evolved.
The result
A reusable front-end system supporting the customer journey across mobile and desktop, from discovering destinations and activities through to building and managing an event.
The shared component library also provided the development team with a consistent foundation for extending the platform as new content and functionality were introduced.
